What is the Difference between Selfish, Narcissist, Egoist and Egotist

Many people do not take care of others gives preference to their own only. This thing creates many problems in our society, but no one can change this habit of such people. In fact, you can say this this habit, a nature of many people as well. These people do not give much importance to the views and needs of other ones. For such people, there is no importance of relations as well. It does not matter that they do such behavior with their blood relations or with their friends. Selfish, Narcissist, Egoist and Egotist are some terms that are used to describe such people. However, there are some differences between these terms, which is elaborated in the following lines.

Selfish

A selfish person is one, who cares only for himself or herself. In simple words, you can say that a selfish takes care of just its own interests, welfare and benefits and do not consider any other’s interest in front of himself. Selfishness is the typical behavior of a person which remain same in front of any other person either relationship or friendship.

Narcissist

The narcissist is the person who loves with its own personality than anything else in the world. Such a person is not considered a normal person psychologically. His extreme love with itself make it an undesirable person in the society and no one likes this habit but consider it a disease.

Egoist

Egoist is the term that is used for the person who believes on egoism. This is the moral concept of an egoist person that he wants to do everything according to its own interest rather considering the interest of others. The philosophy of an egoist is that self-interest is the only basis for morality.

Egotist

An Egotist person believes on egotism. Egotism is the condition of a person, who consider himself or herself just superior than all others and think as well as talk about itself.

Selfish vs Narcissist vs Egoist vs Egotist

Selfish is the person who is at the initial stage of self-love. When this nature becomes habit, it becomes a psychological disorder which is called Narcissist. A narcissist wants to express this habit in front of everyone and feel pleasure by expressing this habit in front of others. On the other hand, the difference between Egoist and Egotist is that an Egoist does everything which goes in its own interest. However, he does not express this habit in front of others unlike an Egotist who feel pleasure of talking about himself in front of others.
