What is the Difference between Aspirin Naproxen Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen

Aspirin, Naproxen, Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen are the names of some famous pain-killer medicines. Being having almost similar function, there is so much confusion about the exact functions of these medicines. People usually think that they can use either one interchangeably. To remove this doubt, here is a crystal clear difference.

Aspirin

A salicylate drug that is used to relive ordinary pain or minor aches is known as acetylsalicylic acid or aspirin. To diminish common fever, the use of aspirin as an antipyretic agent is very common. Aspirin is also considered as an anti-inflammatory medicine.

Naproxen

Another anti-inflammatory drug that is non-steroidal in nature is called Naproxen or Naproxen sodium. It falls in the category of INN. The use of this non-steroidal medicine is very common in the case of common fever or ordinary pain. It is also helping medicine in case of stiffness or inflammation. Primary dysmenorrhe Treatment is possible b Naproxen as well.

Acetaminophen

A commonly used medicine for quick pain relief as well as reducing fever is known as Acetaminophen. Another name if this medicine is Tylenol. The treatment of many other diseases like aches, headache, backache, arthritis and cold is also possible by use of this medicine.

Ibuprofen

In the symptoms of fever, arthritis and ordinary pain, another anti-inflammatory and non-steroidal drug is called Ibuprofen. The use of Ibuprofen is also recommended in case of  dysmenorrhea and indication of inflammatory component.

Aspirin vs Naproxen vs Acetaminophen vs Ibuprofen

Aspirin acts directly on affected areas of pain by mixing in bloodstream of human body. The function and way of relieving pain by use Ibuprofen is not different at all than aspirin. However, the negative effect of Ibuprofen upon stomach lining is much less than naproxen and aspirin.  Moreover, acetaminophen is not an anti-inflammatory medicine that is used for treatment of common fever and ordinary ache in contrast to other medicines that are used for similar purposes like naproxen, aspirin and ibuprofen.
