What is the Difference between Dumbbell and Barbell Bench Press

Exercises are of different types and obviously, not only the way but exercises machines are also different for different types of exercises. Dumbbell and Barbell are the names of two commonly using exercising tools. In fact, it does not mean that dumbbell and barbell are used for any particular type of exercise; they are used in different types of exercises. Dumbbell bench press and barbell bench press are the names of two different exercise, but having very close aim and method. Let’s see the difference between them.

Dumbbell Bench Press

In this type of exercise, the person lies down on the bench with back towards the bench. In this position, he picks the dumbbells positions the dumbbells towards the sides of chest by means of bent arms. Now, he lifts the dumbbells with straight arms and then lowers the arms with bent elbows up to the chest. He repeats the exercise man times.

Barbell Bench Press

In this exercise, the person lies on the bench with back. He dismounts the barbell from the stand by means of his hands and first lift the barbell upward and bring lower up to the chest. In this position, the elbows are in bent position. Now, he repeats the exercise many times.

Dumbbell Bench Press vs Barbell Bench Press

The major difference between Dumbbell Bench Press Barbell Bench Press is obviously, type of exercise tool that is used in respective exercise. In case of Dumbbell Bench Press, dumbbells are used, while in case of Barbell, barbell is used as an exercise tool. Moreover, in case of barbell bench press, the stress on shoulder is much lower while lifting greater loads in contrast to dumbbell in which there is less stress on shoulders even while lifting greater loads in terms of mind-muscle connection.
