What is the Difference between Exergonic, Exothermic and Endothermic Reactions

Scientist has divided the science into different classes to understand them in a better way and to do a thorough study of each and every part of science individually. Chemistry is the science of elements and their specific characteristics. It deals with the chemical reaction that takes place between them. The elements have been divided into different groups according to their characteristics and chemical behavior. This grouping not only makes the study of these elements easy but also reveals other hidden facts about these elements. Different types of chemical reaction take place and scientists have studied some chemical reactions showing a special feature whenever they occur. Scientist gives a special name to these chemical reactions. This naming also helps in studying different aspects of chemistry and understands it in a better way. Here are few chemical reactions.

Exergonic Reactions

It is a kind of chemical reaction that occurs on its own due to certain condition. In this reaction the change in Gibbs energy is negative. An example of such type of reaction during which Gibbs energy is negative is a reaction of cellular respiration.

Exothermic Reactions

It is a type of chemical reaction in which heat energy is evolved or heat energy is lost in form of heat energy or light energy. In this reaction the energy needed for reaction is less than the total energy so the remaining energy is released out in the atmosphere.

Endothermic Reactions

This is a type of reaction in which energy needed for reaction is greater than total energy and as a result remaining energy is taken from atmosphere and results in cooling down of environment.

Exergonic reaction Vs Exothermic Reactions Vs Endothermic Reactions

Exergonic, Exothermic and Endothermic Reactions are different phenomena in science and having crystal clear differences between them that are as;  Exergonic is a reaction in which Gibbs energy is negative while the reactions in which heat energy is lost are known as exothermic reactions while those in which heat energy is absorbed are called endothermic reactions. These both exothermic and endothermic reactions are opposite to each other.
