What is the Difference between Methane, Alcohol, Methanol and Ethanol

They are different from each other in terms of composition and properties. Let’s have a look on the difference between them.

Alcohol

Ethanol

It is also called ethyl alcohol, grain alcohol or drinking alcohol. It is also a volatile and flammable liquid. It is used as a recreational drug. It is used in alcoholic beverages. It is one of the oldest recreational drugs. It is also used in thermometers and as fuel. In common it is known as spirits.

Methane

It is an organic chemical compound. Its formula is CH4. it is a simple alkane and is a core element of natural gas.
