What is the Difference between UI Developer, UI Designer and Web Designer
Computer has taken a very special place in our lives. It is working as designer, calculator, manager and many more. Software development is very important in this regard. With the advancement of technology, development of software, with respect to specific tasks is also very important. We can find a large number of software in the market. For developing specific software we need specific persons. User interface or UI is the basic thing, on which all the software are based. UI developers, UI designer and web designer all are playing their role in their specific capacity. Only few people can recognize basic difference between these persons. We are mentioning some basic differences between these specialists.
UI Developer
UI developer are software specialists, however their field of specialization is limited to a specific part of a certain application. For instance, some UI developers are expert in Server Side, while some others work with GUI data base. Their role is very important for the development of good software.
UI Designer
UI designers are also specialists. This is a kind of UI developers. Designers have specific task of developing that portion of software, with which users interact. It has a wide range, like text interface and Graphical user interface. UI designers need to know the programming languages, which they use I developing a program.
Web Designer
A web designer is concerned with the designing and development of a web site or on a smaller scale, with web page. A web designer should know a wide set of applications, which will help him to create a good website. Only HTML is enough to create a page, but this page might not be fully functional. In order to create an attractive website, he should know languages like CSS, SQL and PHP. Knowledge of technologies like Flash is also important.
UI Developer vs UI Designer vs Web Designer
A web designer work as a team, as his deals with a specific project all alone and can work on any aspect of this project, a web site or web page. On the other hand, UI designer has restrictions on his work; he works for designing the interface only. Work of UI designer is very limited but at the same time it is very important too. Users notice the UI initially, whenever they use the program. Another difference is use of language; UI designer should know the programming languages, while web designer should know the markup language. UI developer works on particular part of application. UI developer’s work is a part of UI designer’s work.
