What is the Difference between Ipad, Laptop, Workstation, Pc and Server
Technology has served the mankind in various ways and the best example of this serving is computer. Today, it is hard to count any field that is without computer. Now, we can see computers in various forms thanks to advancement in technology. iPad, Laptop, Workstation, PC and Server are some of the various forms of computer. Being different forms of computer, these inventions are somewhat different from each other in terms of functions and structures. Here is the difference between these inventions.
iPad
iPad is the mobile computer that was developed and marketed by Apple Inc. in 2010. This is the compact device that enables the user to enjoy ebooks, music, games, movies and web content. The operating system of iPad is same as of iPad Touch and iPhone.
Laptop
A laptop is a compact form of computer that is a movable and portable device. The other functions and features of laptop are exactly same as of a personal computer like display, keyboard, pointing device, speaker and CD ROM, but all in built-in form and the fixed components of a laptop. A rechargeable battery is another salient feature of laptop.
Workstation
A workstation is such form of computer that in which central processing unit is available in micro-processor form. Such computers are widely used for scientific or technical applications by means of providing local area networks to make an environment of multi-user operating systems.
PC
PC or Personal computers still have wide applications in various fields like offices, home and industries. In fact, the primary aim of these computers is providing local area network by interconnecting several computers within the same working area. They are not portable devices.
Server
A server is the host computer that plays the role of main computer in a networking environment and through which other computers are accessible and opera-table at one station.
Ipad vs Laptop vs Workstation vs PC vs Server
iPad is just like computers, but portable and most compact form of computer, designed and marketed by Apple Inc. similarly, laptop is also a mobile computer that can be easily moved from one place to another and also has rechargeable battery just like cellular phones, but has larger size as compared to iPads. A workstation is also a mini computer device that is equipped with micro-processor instead of large central processing unit. On the contrary, a PC is the non-portable computer that needs continuous electricity connection to run incessant. While, a server is nothing, but the hub or control unit of all other computers that are connected with each other in the same working area.
